For example, having an active Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and whatever other current social media is trending at the moment. Or having your Google information relevant, such as hours of operation and relevant photos, if a customer sees that the business is active and up-to-date on that platform, they’re more tempted to leave a Google review. These Google reviews will most likely include Keywords that other consumers might be looking for, such as “Great Mexican Food” or “Delicious tacos.” These reviews will then lead to higher search engine optimization or rankings.
Other methods to increase social mentions in a business include:

If customers do not see an active social media presence, they are less likely to share a story or post their experience at the business. - By creating a branded hashtag, you are creating an easier way to be discovered or known on social media. It is a way that you can be easily discovered on social media. When creating this branded hashtag, make it something relevant to your business but yet is short, sweet, and simple. Something catchy that people are more likely to remember.

- Easy sharing methods are another important method for increasing social mentions. Your posts need to be easily accessible and easy to share. The process should take a few seconds at most and not require numerous steps since customers will become uninterested very quickly.
- Running promotions or giveaways
- Running promotions or giveaways allow new customers or individuals to be discovered on social media. The promotion does not need to be anything massive, but the bigger, the more attraction that can come from it. There can be stipulations in the promotion, such as sharing this post and receiving an even bigger discount or showing us this post and getting this in return. Something to incentivize consumers to come in and purchase or do it online. Giveaways are also another good way to be discovered on social media since individuals normally share the post on their public stories and tagging other people.
This is an example of a giveaway being conducted with local businesses in Southwest Detroit, Michigan. As you can see by the likes and shares, the post had a lot of engagement compared to previous posts from this business. Meaning a lot of new faces were seeing the post and engaging with these two small businesses.
Social Mention Building is not something that comes easily; it requires lots of time and dedication to build that social footprint on social media. But with the proper education, time, and efficient marketing campaigns, it is feasible. The results will be great if done!
